Alphabots Walkthrough

Alphabots is a great word game for those just getting started with this genre of game because it isn't all that difficult and the graphics are a lot of fun. Those who have a little more experience with word games might find this one a little too easy and will likely have no trouble getting through all three worlds offered in the game. As easy as it can be, though, it is entertaining so even experienced players might want to give it a shot. If nothing else, it's a good little game to kill some time with.

Like many other word games online, the goal of Alphabots is to collect letters to make words of at least three letters. Words can be as long as the letters provided will allow you. Instead of just having to click on the letters though, you are given a neat little character that you will move around the game screen using your arrow keys to collect the letters with. You collect letters by passing through them or beside them with your character. The letters you collect are added in a chain behind you. The challenge is to collect the letters in the proper order without any extra letters added. For example, if you are trying to make the word 'dog', you will have to collect 'd', then 'o', then 'g' in that order without collecting any additional letters along the way. If you collect an extra letter by accident, you will need to release all of the letters and start collecting them again. You release the letters in your train by hitting the spacebar. You also submit words you've made successfully the same way. Bigger words give you a bigger score, but they can be difficult to make. If you were trying to make the word 'doghouse' instead of 'dog' and instead of an 'h' collected an 's', you now have the word 'dogs'. When you hit 'space' to release the letters to try to go for 'doghouse' again, the word 'dogs' will automatically be submitted because it is a legitimate word. A good way to get around this is to collect another random letter to add to the end of the chain. You can then release all of the letters without submitting the word you did not want to submit. Keep this in mind. It will definitely help you in the game.

As you progress in Alphabots you are introduced to new types of terrain that make the game a bit more difficult. Because you have to collect as many words as you can before time runs out, you need to move quickly. Sand, the darker patches of terrain, will make that much more difficult to do. Sand slows you down significantly and makes collecting letters a bit more difficult. Ice, the smoother looking almost silver/white colored patches of terrain, has the opposite effect. You will move along these patches quickly and it's much harder to control your character as you move. Beware of the edges. If you fall off an edge, you will have to start from the beginning point of the level again and any letters you had collected will need to be collected again.

Overall, Alphabots is a great word game with fun graphics and unique controls that offers a more laid back challenge than many of the other word games online. While experience word game players might find it a bit too easy, it is still fun to beat all the levels that compose all three words offered. Newcomers to word games will likely find the game more challenging and the controls a bit more difficult to use but because the game is so laid back, they likely won't get so frustrated they want to quit. It's a great way to get used to playing word games before moving on to more difficult challenges. It isn't the hardest word game online, but it is one of the most fun graphics wise. Give it a shot and see how long it takes you to conquer all three worlds.
