JuggleType is a curiously entertaining game presented by Altoids, "The Original Celebrated Curiously Strong Mints". This typing game features clean graphics, simple controls, and high-paced gameplay.
The objective of JuggleType is to attain the quota of points on each level to advance to the next. The initial levels of this typing game are simple, but as you progress, the game becomes faster-paced and more complex. You begin the game with three lives, and one life if lost each time the puck moves out of bounds. When all three lives are lost, the game is over. There is no save system in this typing game, so you will have to start from the beginning each time that you play.
In JuggleType, you are not in direct control of the puck; instead, you must hold down keys on your keyboard to illuminate tiles and ricochet the puck off of them. When a key is held down, all tiles containing that letter on the stage will illuminate. When the puck strikes illuminated tiles, the puck will reflect and points will be earned; when the puck strikes a tile that is not lit, the tile will be removed from the stage. If too many tiles are removed, a gap may form, allowing the puck to slip out of bounds!
JuggleType is excellent typing practice for children that are learning to type (although older players may enjoy it as well). Due to the pace of the game, players will have to know the keyboard by heart to keep their eyes on the screen and light up the right tiles. The proper placement of players' hands on the home row is extremely helpful in this typing game, especially since the first few levels deal with only these letters (on a standard QWERTY keyboard).
JuggleType is an excellent tool for learning how to type as well as a straightforward and entertaining typing game. If you are looking to hone your typing skill or just have a spot of fun, then give JuggleType a try!
