Qbox Walkthrough
Who are the smartest animals in the animal world? Most of the time, the answer is OWLS! And yes, in Qbox, they are arrogant. They are the scholars of the animal world. They mock the human race with the glasses they are wearing together with their mortarboards. They are always flying around thinking they are wiser and smarter than us. Shall we let this continue?
Heck no! The good news is that Qbox is one of those word games where you can show these know it all owls what you have got and give them the spanking they need. For those of you who don't know it, Qbox is one of the word games from Qwizzly, which is a little and neat variant of a Jumble or cryptogram. The objective of the game is to figure out or decipher the famous quotes from one of the three historical eras.
The quotes are laid out in a grid with the letters (that form the quotes) scrambled... BUT they are within their respective columns. Otherwise, the game would be devilishly hard. Anyway, the idea is to swap the letters within the same column until a correct word is formed. Get that and the new and correct world will lock into place. Rinse and repeat this process on the other columns until you have completed the famouse and historical quote.
This game gives you nice bonuses for speed. When you solve a level quickly, you will be rewarded with a time bonus, something that, I think, is always appreciated in word games. See those flashing tiles? They also represent a bonus so you want to deal with them and discover the word as soon as possible. By the way, in the later levels, some columns will be locked...not allowing you to touch or do anything with it until you have unscrambled a word elsewhere in the grid. This is a nice way of making the game even more challenging.
Oh! One more thing, I hate to say this BUT when you are stumped, if you can't make any progress, you can click on the know it all owl on the screen to get a hint. Damn those owls! Well, if you are stuck, eat up your pride for a sec. Owls really are smart after all.
Summing it all up, Qbox is one of the solid word games out there that can be played whether you are on a coffee break or if the whole day is just boring and you want to kill time while having fun and keeping your wits sharp in the process. The level of difficulty steps up really nicely in later levels.
Along with that, your progress is also automatically saved, which is nice. It means you don't have to slug it out with the owls in a word puzzle marathon if you don't want to or if you don't have the time. And here's another smart feature that can't fail to help widen your general knowledge especially when it comes to history. After completing a level, click on the author of the quote. You will then be taken to a Wikipedia Article on the said author.
